A Word About Consequences

Adam and Eve knew what would happen if they dined on forbidden fruit. They deigned to dine. Jesus didn't have to be crucified. He made the choice.

In more modern times, Roberto Duran had to choose between getting his brains beaten out by Sugar Ray Leonard, or bowing out in the middle of the "no mas" fight with his face and fortune intact.

Even closer to home, I can go stand in the middle of the freeway any time I want to. Or not. That's a choice I make when I'm aware of all the facts.

We all make choices every day, but remember, we also choose the results of those choices. Life isn't black or white. It's black and white -- and a lot of other colors, too.

When you have a decision that needs to be made, you have the right to pick whatever option you want. But don't call me up later and say, "Hey, I didn't know that was going to happen!"

When you flip a coin, it hardly ever lands on edge.
